PSRU COMMENCED QUARTERLY MONITORING VISITATIONS TO MDA’S TO FAST TRACK IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MANAGEMENT AND FUNCTIONAL REVIEW

Freetown, 5 July 2011 – The Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU) has commenced visitation to Ministries, Department and Agencies to ascertain the level of implementation of recommendations contained in the Management and Functional Review and other reform initiatives.

The exercise according to, Dr. Julius Sandy, Director, PSRU, is to among other things, monitor and evaluate the level of implementation of recommendations in the Management and Functional Reviews; provide updates on reform initiatives; review the implementation mechanism to facilitate the reform process; discuss and agree on the way forward to expedite the reform process and facilitate the creation of management structures such as Change Management Teams, to maximize service delivery.

The monitoring exercise commenced on Monday 4th July and will continue through August 22nd 2011. Consultations will be held with top management in all MDA’s to ensure compliance to the MFR process. The setting up of a Change Management Team in all MDA’s is the main trust of the monitoring exercise.
