PSRU Hosts NPAA on the Conduct of MFR

The Public Sector Reforms Unit (PSRU) on Tuesday 19th March, 2024 hosted Senior Management of the National Protected Area Authority, NPAA, on the conduct of a Management and Functional Review to enable the Authority to be functional and deliver on its mandate.

Welcoming the NPAA Senior Management, the recently appointed Director of the Public Sector Reforms Unit (PSRU), Mr Sulaiman Phoray-Musa explained the mandate of PSRU which he said, is to provide leadership, coordination and strategic guidance in the design, implementation and monitoring of all Public Sector Reform Programmes.

He said one of the core functions of PSRU is to conduct Management and Functional Reviews (MFRs) to identify gaps, systems and processes of MDAs and proffer meaningful recommendations to enable MDAs deliver on their mandates.

The Deputy Executive Director of NPAA, Mr. Dwight Z. K. Sheriff said the purpose of their visit was to implore the expertise of PSRU to conduct a thorough Management and Functional Review to address the challenges the authority is facing.

The Authority, he said, is fraught with numerous challenges, ranging from the reconstitution of the board to other administrative bottlenecks.

The Director, Public Service Delivery, Office of the Chief Minister, Mr. Cyrus Sheriff, assured the meeting that plans are at an advance stage for the reconstitution of the board for the smooth running of the Authority.
