The Policy Agenda of the PSRU is always derived from the Government of Sierra Leone National Development Agenda on Public Sector Reform initiatives. Implicitly, the immediate policy directives of PSRU are derived from the New Medium-Term National Development Plan (2024 – 2030), cluster 5.5 – “Transforming the Public Service Architecture”. This has necessitated the unit to realign its activities with the current National Development Agenda.
To translate the key policy targets, articulated in the MTNDP into actional programmes, the Public Sector Reform Unit has developed an operational work plan that is consistent with its mandate and core functions, which focuses on building a responsive and professional public service. In addition, critical to the work of PSRU is to ensure that each of the strategy policy targets are translated into programmes and projects that will support public sector productivity.
We continue to work in close collaboration with our key partners to ensure good working relationship - the Cabinet Secretariat; the Public Service Commission (PSC), the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and staff and Management of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), The World Bank, The European Union (EU), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), African Development Bank (AfDB) and the UK Department for International Development (DFID)
