Strategic Interventions and Potential Impacts

Strategic and structural alignment

PSRU will scale up its intervention in the conduct of Management and Functional Reviews of MDAs, including Local Councils and optimize service delivery

Review of policies, legislations, regulations and guidelines of sectors and MDAs

Policy and legislative overlaps will be identified, rationalized and harmonized through a comprehensive scanning exercise.

Improvement in systems and tools

PSRU will robustly work with the Ministry of Communications, Technology and innovation and other relevant players to engage on issues around e-governance and digitalization of the Public Sector.

Improvement in service delivery

PSRU will endeavour to be integrated into all public sector reform programmes and projects to provide technical support in the actualization of the desired outcomes and outputs.

Gender mainstreaming

PSRU will work closely with the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate gender mainstreaming across the public sector landscape and ensure that the GEWE act is effectively implemented.

Provide technical support to MDAs in the development of strategic and sector plans

PSRU will facilitate the development of strategic and sector plans across the public service to establish realignment of plans with the policy aspirations of government as articulated in the MTNDP 2024 – 2030.

Public Sector Reform Coordination and Management

PSRU will collaborate with IAs, development partners and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project planning management and implementation to achieve the desired results.
