Records Management Improvement Programme (RMIP) – The Records Management Improvement Programme is mandated to enhance Records Management initiatives in MDAs where funding is sourced. The Programme was set up in 2005 to create records and rehabilitate specifically personnel records which may have fiduciary implications but most were destroyed during the war. The programme was part of the creation of HRMO and for implementing sound records management across the Public Service.
The team has completed the following projects:
Accessible and Secure Teachers’ Files
Building more complete employment histories
Key documents collected as hard copies during interviews
Well over 250,000 documents collected and filed on the relevant teacher’s file at Ministry HQ
All documents scanned into a searchable database
The Records Management Improvement Programme was set up in 2005 to implement the creation of accurate and reliable records for the Government of Sierra Leone. The verification project 2008 is one project within this programme. The RMIP is a programme running under the auspices of the Public Sector Reform Unit which is part of the Office of the President of the Government of Sierra Leone. The key stakeholders for the RMIP payroll verification project are the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO, formerly Establishment Secretary’s Office) and the Accountant General’s (AG) Department The project has been funded by the UK Department for International Development, DfID, as part of its support for good governance.

The Payroll Verification consolidation phase was designed to improve the management of the Civil Service payroll to ensure that the benefits created by the payroll verification (Nov 2008) are both maximized and maintained.
