Slerra Leone Public Sector Leadership visits Egypt to sign a Partnership Agreement

A high-powered delegation from Sierra Leone led by the Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Mr. Amara Kallon is in Egypt to strengthen the existing bilateral ties and to enhance cooperation in capacity building for civil/ public servants, as well as strengthening ongoing reforms within the public sector.

The delegation is expected to hold bilateral discussions with eminent officials aimed at revitalizing Sierra Leone’s public sector architecture.

The Minister and team will meet the Prime Minister of Egypt H.E. Prof. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, culminating into the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to solidify collaborative efforts.

The delegation that is hosted by the Egyptian counterpart H.E. Prof. Dr. Saleh El Sheik, and other political figures in Egypt such as His Eminence the Grand Imam, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Ambassador Hamdi Loza, Deputy Foreign Minister for African Affairs, and H.E. Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation.

The Minister and his delegation will visit the House of Representatives of Egypt to have closed door meetings with Dr. Sharif Al-Gabali, Chairman of the African Affairs with the view of fostering mutually beneficial partnerships.

The mission to Egypt underscores the unwavering commitment to advancing administrative excellence and fostering constructive international relations for the betterment of Sierra Leone.

The delegation comprised the Minister of Public Administration and Political Affairs, Mr. Amara Kallon, the Chairman, Public Service Commission, Mr. K.O Bah and the Director of Public Sector Reform Unit (PSRU), Mr Sulaiman Phoray-Musa.

According to the Director of PSRU, the delegation eagerly anticipate a fruitful outcomes of these engagements as in his words, “the leadership of the public service remain steadfast in its pursuit of a more efficient and responsive public sector.”
