The Director of Public Sector Reform, Dr. Julius Sandy, has signed the 2013 Annual Work Plan (AWP) of the United Nations Development Programme to the tune of US $ 396,000.
The AWP seeks to consolidate on the gains made in the ongoing Public Sector Reform initiatives, and will contribute to the most pressing reform areas as defined in the Agenda for Prosperity. The key expected output will include: (i) Enhanced coordination and technical support in accelerating priority reform areas, (ii) enhanced results and performance management platform (iii) rolling out Performance Appraisal Systems and Performance Contracts, conducting Management and Functional Reviews of Local Councils (iv) Professionalising the Civil Service.
In a related engagement, the PSRU Director also signed the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) AWP to the value of US $ 96,225 with the UNDP Deputy Country Director. The IBSA programme will further support Government’s ongoing Public Sector Reform Programme, complementing such areas as Pay Reform, Performance Management, specialised training and other capacity development programmes, including exposure missions, study tours and other forms of knowledge networking within the IBSA framework.
