Steering Committee on Public Sector Reform
The Steering Committee on Public Sector Reform (SCPSR) was inaugurated on 18th January 2024. The Secretary to the President is the Chairman of the Committee, while the Director of the Public Sector Reform Unit serves as Secretary.
The objective for constituting the SCPSR is for it to serve as a critical platform to identify reform challenges and gaps, approve recommendations proffered in the Management and Functional Review Reports, and ensure timely and influential intervention for the effective implementation of those approved recommendations. Part of the strategic role of the SCPSR will also be to brainstorm on wider reform programmes across MDAs and Local Councils and provide strategic directives for the next steps.
Looking at the Scope of the Committee, it is charged with the responsibility of identifying reform challenges and gaps and providing strategic directions for the entire public sector environment, including Local Councils and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
