The Steering Committee on Public Sector Reform scrutinizes the MFRs of four MDAs

Freetown, 13 December 2024

The Steering committee on Public Sector Reform in fulfillment of its objectives has thoroughly scrutinized the Management and Functional Review of four critical Agencies.

The Director of the Public Sector Reform Unit, Mr Sulaiman Phoray Musa in his presentation deliberated on the findings and recommendations of the MFRs conducted for Sierra Leone Correctional Services, National Public Procurement Authority, National Protected Area Authority and the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs.

Mr. Phoray-Musa informed the steering committee that the gaps identified by the review team cuts across the four institutions. Among them are the lack of policy, lack of training needs assessment, lack of equipment and logistics, absence of statutory framework, inefficient and over loaded organizational structure.

The chairman for the steering committee Dr. Emmanuel Gaima, expressed his gratitude to the Director and team at the Public Sector Reform Unit for a job well done; making valuable suggestions that will further enhance the performance and productivity of the MDAs.

Among the four MFRs that were presented one has been approved and other three are pending subject to further research and scrutiny.
